Free crochet pattern: Icy Hombre Poncho

Jan 6, 2011 by mikocoffey    4 Comments    Posted under: crochet, free patterns, patterns & instructions

My old poncho had gotten so much wear recently that I decided to make a new one. I wanted something that crocheted up super-quick, and I also fancied using this gorgeous Gedifra Riana Color yarn, so the Icy Hombre Poncho was born. The yarn makes very subtle ombre stripes which are accentuated by the simple stitch pattern. I managed to make this poncho over the course of a weekend, and it’s super-easy so even beginners can make it. If you fancy making it, feel free! I have offered the pattern as a free Ravelry download, but if you’re not on Ravelry you can download it right here:

  • UPDATE: I have just replaced the PDF with a new version which includes the second round of finishing single crochet around the edges.

  • I saw your icy hombre poncho and tried to download the pattern where is says: if your not on Ravelry where it said : download here… and nothing happend. Is there another way to get your pattern instructions?

I’m a beginning crochet learner and took tan introductory class earlier this month. I would like to move off dish cloths and on to something pretty and easy to make.

I appreciate you showing a picture of how the poncho should look when wearing it.

  • You said you can get the pattern from here? I don’t see any link. :(
BTW, could I make this for a man do you think? Been looking for a pattern for my husband and son, and not having much luck. Pleas email me your reply, if possible. Thank you.

  • Lorraine, Kimberly: The link is there on the page above where it says “Icy Hombre Poncho Pattern free download (1MB PDF)”
